Better access to Oyster cards for Capital's visitors

02 June 2008

Visitors to London can now buy their Oyster cards through Oxford Tube coach service before reaching the Capital.

The coach operator has joined forces with Transport for London (TfL) so that passengers on the dedicated Oxford to London service can buy Oyster cards before they arrive.

It means that, from this month, Visitor Oyster cards are available from ticket offices at Oxford's Gloucester Green Coach Station and Thornhill Park and Ride.

They are pre-loaded with pay as you go, so are ready for use as soon as passengers get to central London.

The Oxford Tube service carries more than two million passengers a year into the Capital.

Mayor of London Boris Johnson said: 'This arrangement with Oxford Tube is a great development for visitors to London who need to get around the city.

'More people can now arrive ready to travel, and use Oyster as the quickest, cheapest and easiest way of getting
around London.'
