The power of platform etiquette
If you've ever had difficulty getting off the Tube because of passengers getting on first - help could be at hand, thanks to a trial coming soon. From February 14, directional markings will be installed on selected Jubilee line platforms - designed to encourage passengers to let people off the train before they board it.
The six-month trial aims to avoid the delays which occur when customers try to get on and off the train at the same time.
The trial will involve testing reactions to four different styles of marking (each style tested at at least two locations).
The key objective being to assess the influence of the markings on passenger behaviour and its impact on cutting delays.
The trial will take place at the following Jubilee line stations: Canada Water, Canary Wharf, Green Park, Kilburn, London Bridge, Swiss Cottage, St John's Wood, Waterloo, West Hampstead and Westminster.
