Overnight crackdown on the capital's illegal cabs
THE Metropolitan Police's (Met's) Cab Enforcement Unit, made 40 arrests during a recent covert overnight operation on illegal cabs.
Officers patrolled hotspots in central and south London, dealing with touting, illegal operating, taxi rank offences, illegal plying for hire, and unlicensed drivers and vehicles.
The Cab Enforcement Unit has made more than 5,500 arrests for touting and cab-related offences since 2003.
