Masses of moquette to marvel at
For those who aren't in the know, moquette is the hard-wearing material that adorns Tube and bus seats.
A material which has, over time, achieved cult status.
The new range of products from London Transport Museum can be bought from its shop in Covent Garden Piazza, or online at www.ltmuseum.co.uk.
Here's what's on offer:
Routemaster Retro
Travel in style with accessories made from moquette fabric woven in the pattern used on the iconic Routemaster bus from the 60s.
Bags, travel wallets, wash bags, luggage labels and money wallets will brighten up any journey.
A highlight is a modern interpretation of the Gibson ticket machine cash bag (pictured above), used on London's buses in the 50s and 60s.
Made to order home furnishings are also available.
London RailOrder
Do you have a favourite Tube or rail station?
Do some of the names have a special meaning for you?
Now you can personalise a range of products with a segment of the Underground and rail map.
The designs can be applied to mugs, coasters, mouse mats, T-shirts, travel card wallets, greeting cards and posters.
Potty for Posters
Liven up your home or office with more than 4,000 poster designs from the Museum's collection, available in various sizes.
Choose works by Man Ray and Edward McKnight Kauffer, or colourful art deco designs and country scenes.
Bid for fantastic experiences
A NEW auction on eBay is offering some once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Whether it's a day of personal coaching and a round of golf with international pro golfer Jean-François Lucquin, or enjoying an exclusive behind-the-scenes Formula 1 experience with tickets to the Brazil Race Day that appeals, visit www.ltmuseum.co.uk for these and many more fantastic offers to bid for.
The auction closes at 10.30pm on Tuesday, October 6, so if the use of a Routemaster bus for an evening or bidding for first class tickets on Virgin trains tempts you, don't miss out.
The auction is raising funds for London Transport Museum Friends - a charity dedicated to supporting the activities of London Transport Museum and the care of its collections.
