Great art starts here
From the thousands of entries submitted, a selection was chosen to be exhibited at London Transport Museum until October 9 as part of the London Design Festival.
Due to popular demand they are now on sale from the TfL online shop and the museum online shop.
Entrants were asked to design a piece of artwork that communicated the exciting discoveries to be found beyond the central London limits.
The selection, chosen for their individual style and ability to immediately capture the attention of passing commuters, included representations of pub names in Hackney, Art Nouveau-influenced views of the urban skyline from Primrose Hill and witty takes on London's green belt.
The winning entry, 'London Lidos' by Alex Jeffries, plus the runners-up 'Two Wheels Good' by Christian Statham and 'The Best Bits' by Daniel Norris, are all also available to buy online.
TfL has been a patron of poster design for more than 100 years, using public transport, in particular the Underground, to communicate public service messages and advertisements.
Over the years many leading designers have been commissioned to produce posters advertising events and destinations in and around the capital.
Famous names include Frank Brangwyn, Edward McKnight Kauffer, Edward Wadsworth, Paul Nash, Man Ray and Graham Sutherland.
