Saddle up for a capital weekend

17 September 2009

JOIN the Cycle Friday bike rides tomorrow morning and kick off a weekend of cycling activities.

Cycle Friday

The guided rides will be led by marshals from the London Cycling Campaign, who will provide everyone with a bike check and a map before setting off.

The rides start at 8am from six locations across the capital:

Tour of Britain

Watch the world's top cyclists race past the London's landmarks for free, during the final stage of The Tour of Britain on Saturday.

The 8.6km route (which the riders complete ten times) starts and finishes on Victoria Embankment, taking in Big Ben, Cleopatra's Needle, Somerset House and the Tower of London.

Skyride

On Sunday, riders of all ages and abilities will be encouraged to get on their bikes with friends and family as part of the Mayor of London's Skyride.

The 15km traffic-free route takes riders past Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London, Cannon Street, Bank and Cheapside through the heart of the City.
