Transport for London

One ELLE of a celebration

09 September 2009

THE epitomy of fashion - ELLE magazine - has teamed up with Transport for London to celebrate the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week.

To mark the occasion, Elle has commissioned 25 people who have shaped British fashion - including Paul Smith, Naomi Campbell, Christopher Bailey and Antonio Beradi (design pictured) - to create one-off posters to be displayed at Tube stations during September.

The posters will go on show from Friday.

John Ball, director of strategy and service bevelopment for London Underground, said: 'We're very proud of our tradition of putting great design at the heart of our organisation.

'This includes the iconic and world-class design of our stations, signage, maps, typeface and posters.

'London Underground is delighted to support the 25th anniversary of London Fashion Week, and the inspirational and innovative work to be showcased by emerging and established designers from around the world.'

London Mayor Boris Johnson, who is featured on special editions of this month's Elle, added: 'As these terrific images by some of our most revered designers and style icons show, London is the place to be for fashion.'

All 25 images are depicted in a free pull-out poster in the October issue of the magazine.

London Fashion Week takes place from September 24 to 27.
