Transport for London

Winning poster designs on show

08 September 2009

TWENTY of the best posters submitted as part of Transport for London's recent poster design competition go on display at London Transport Museum on Saturday, September 19.

The poster display, called 'The outer limits - beyond zone one', celebrates life in the capital and destinations that lie beyond central London.

Designs include human form representations of pub names in Hackney, an Art Nouveau-influenced view of the urban skyline from Primrose Hill, and a witty take on London's green belt.

The winning design, London Lidos by Alex Jeffries (above left), highlights a popular urban recreation that is not widely promoted, and the minimalist design invites the viewer to dive right into the cool water.

The exhibition, which includes Daniel Norris' Best Bits (above right), runs until Friday October 9 at London Transport Museum in Covent Garden Piazza.

Tickets: £10 adults; £8 senior citizens; £6 students; under-16s free.
