Natalie - Crossrail Delivery Manager
Natalie - Crossrail Delivery Manager
TfL saw something in me all those years ago as a PA and I will never stop repaying them.
My journey
I started at TfL back in 1996 as a PA but I was determined to go into management, so whilst I moved around various departments TfL agreed to release me one day a week to study for a Certificate, followed by a Diploma in Management Studies. After successfully getting my first managerial position, a Project development Manager in Scoping and Initiation, I then went on to oversee some major TfL initiatives: the redevelopment of Fulham Broadway, the new stations around Westfield Shopping Centre and the installation of escalators and fans at Bank station. Now, 13 years later I am the Crossrail Delivery Manager.
My passion
TfL are strong believers in investing time and energy in the development of their staff and I am staunchly loyal to TfL as they hold a great future for me. They saw something in me all those years ago and have backed me every step of my career. I will never stop repaying them for making me who I am today. I now regularly encourage friends' teenage children to come in and do work experience.
My pride
I am now working on the Crossrail - one of the biggest construction engineering jobs in Europe at the moment. I feel I am at the pinnacle of my career and it is one of the most complex jobs I have ever worked on. I feel I am playing a part in history - there has been a Crossrail team gearing up for this line ever since I started at TfL and I am proud to be working with the most renowned contractors in the industry.
