Bus and taxi TfL was created in 2000 as the integrated body responsible for the Capital's transport system, with Bob Kiley appointed as London's first Commissioner of Transport. Peter Hendy is the current commissioner.

The main role of TfL, which is part of the Greater London Authority, is to put the Mayor of London's Transport Strategy into action and manage the Capital's transport services.

Transport Trading Limited  

The holding company for all the operating transport companies owned by TfL. It also carries out certain other trading activities, such as running the London Transport Museum.
