You will be contacted by Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS) about 30 days before your annual inspection is due.

SGS will follow the guidelines found in the Taxi Vehicle Inspection Manual (PDF 948KB), which includes updated information about the inspection of taxi wheelchair ramps (section L2).

The inspection costs £178, but you won't need an MOT certificate once you have your licence as the inspection is very thorough.

If SGS are satisfied with the repairs, your 'Unfit' status will be removed and you will be able to start operating again immediately.
