Streetscape guidance

Street scene The streetscape guidance report gives advice and information to staff who look after the design, appearance and upkeep of London's streets and roads.

The guidance was originally put together for Transport for London's Road Network, but its principles apply to any of London's streets.

Guidance on the assessment of pedestrian guardrail

You can download our guidance document (PDF 2.0MB) on the assessment of pedestrian guardrail. This guidance is based on the experience of analysing and removing pedestrian guardrail (PGR) at around 150 junctions and 200 staggered crossings in central London.

The document aims to help design engineers make a decision by highlighting the key factors that should be taken into consideration.
